My parents' musical tastes had great influence on me as child, with their love of classical, honky tonk and swing jazz being fed to me from the day I was born. But aside from that, I think I owe more credit to my older brother who played his Led Zeppelin, Supertramp and Peter Frampton albums in his basement bedroom while I clomped around on my romper-stompers and played house with my sock monkey puppet in the nearby playroom.
I recall that famous Peter Frampton poster my brother had on his wall, you know the one: Peter's face about to sing "Do you feel like I do?" while a golden halo of light is shown around his hair, illuminating his Rock Star status of the early 70's. I didn't know it at that time, when I was a child, that I would someday strive to create images of musicians not unlike that famed epic poster.

Fast-forward to now. I have somehow become a middle-aged woman finally finding my way in life via my creativity. It seemed that somehow photography found me and I found it and we became inseparable.
With my "The Boys In The Bands" photo series, I am immoratiziling the male musicians in my world that I think are stellar, epic and amazing. These men, their songs, their style and their music have all touched me in some deep-seeded way that comforts me and brings me joy. Creating images of them is not only my tribute to them, but also a way to feel connected to my younger self as she goes on the fast-track to loving rock and roll.
